3 Things . . .

Filed under: Daily — by LoLo @ 12:48 am
Those that were at the Sun nite Bible study are in the know – but thought I’d send out an email verifying some things we talked about Sun nite, so everyone is in the know.

1. The Bible study has been postponed and will resume after the first of the year. Too many of us are traveling and hustling/bustling this time of year – so, if you are interested in starting back up anew in Jan 2009, plan to be at Sun nite study!

2. We are having a Twisted Sister ornament party on Dec 13th (9am) at Theresa’s house. Cinny sent out an invite to all. Please be sure to RSVP. If you are so inclined, Theresa also has invited all that want to, to come on Friday evening for a PJ party – if you can’t make the PJ party, then just come on for the breakfast and ornament exchange.

3. We are having morning prayer tomorrow – Thursday, Nov 13th, at 730am at Dunkin Donuts. We will see you there – if possible!

Love, LoLo

Where have all the twisteds gone?

Filed under: Daily — by LoLo @ 9:02 pm

Well, its been a hectic few months for all of us!  Marriages, grandchildren, graduations, college, boot camp, loss, travel, etc.  Our blog says it all when it shows no posts since August!  We’ve been busy bees!  But we still find time to meet at Retta’s to pray in the mornings, at Cinny’s on Sunday nite for Bible Study, and of course we also had a great time at the WOF conference in Atlanta this year (Sept).  Now its nearly Halloween and before you know it . . . Christmas will be upon us!  Anyone wanting my shopping list can feel free to email me (lol).  Our new study is called “Discerning the Voice of God” by Priscilla Shirer.  We just started last week and it already appears to be an awesome study!  Hope all who can will join us on Sundays at 6pm at Cinny’s house.

talk to you each soon – much love.  LoLo

Bible Study

Filed under: Daily — by Cinny @ 4:15 am

Since some weren’t able to attend study this past Sunday, I thought I would hits some highlights.

We started on day eight:  discussed the meaning of the word “Hallow”  and read both Isaiah 36 & 37 and discussed the questions.  Karney & Meheeco shared with us the history in 36.  If you have a chance, look at Hezekiah’s prayer on page 45.  It’s awesome!!

Day nine brought us to the meaning of the word “veracity” pg 50  HB was at his puter, so he looked up the word for us ~ frankness, importance, Truth, accuracy.   “We do not need vain repetition. Our worship is based on Truth, not on emotion; it is based not on the fervency of our words, but on the faithfulness of our God.” pg 51  You will find the second paragraph pg 53 is quite interesting.  “The “something ” that seems to be missing in their Christan experience, is really “SOMEONE” – the blessed indwelling of the Holy Spirit”!

Day ten: Wow … now this is a good one!  We discussed the meaning of the word “allegiance” and what it meant in our walk. ” “ThyKingdom come” is a confirmation in prayer of our allegiance to the sovereign rule of the Kingdom Of Gos above all else.   All pages could have been highlighted in this chapter! We all especially honed in on the word “churchchianity” – putting the Church first in lieu of CHrist, which is what Christianity is all about.  “People know much about the word but little about God.” pg 57. The last paragraph on page 59 was right up there, too.

While there was a lot more discussion than I can write down, I hope this brings you all up to date to chapter 11, where we will continue next week.

Blessings to all and y prayers are with you.

Love ya … mean it!!!

From the Father’s heart…….

Filed under: Daily — by Cinny @ 5:17 pm

My devotoion this morning.

EL ELYON, GOD MOST HIGH

He who dwells in the shelter of the Most High

will rest in the shadow of the Almighty.

Psalm 91:1

FROM THE FATHER’S HEART
My child, when gusty winds blow around you, I’ll make your foundation strong. I’ll rebuild your courage and strengthen your might when everything goes wrong. I’ll repair the broken places and fill the gaping holes. Your job is to live under the shelter of My wings. When you do that, I, the Most High God, will cast My shadow over you, and you will find blessed rest. Just because I love you, My child, I will do this.

A GRATEFUL RESPONSE
Like an eagle spreading its wings to shade her offspring, You spread Your arms and protect me.  There, I rest under Your shadow, away from the scorching heat of the sun, protected from the eyes of stalking enemies. You are El Elyon, the God Most High. With You, I am safe.

SIMPLE TRUTH

Trust is knowing that God will allow into my life only the things that will be for my ultimate good.

I pray you have ablessed day!

Home again, home again, jigdy jog…

Filed under: Daily — by Cinny @ 5:40 am

That’s what my step-dad always said when we returned from along trip ….. and I feel like I’ve been on a long trip!!

John got his release papers and we got home about 11:30am.   And guess what I did … yep .. got on my big ‘ole couch … oh how I missed it!!  We took a long nap and woke up to watch the U.S. Open finish.

I gotta call the doc for an apt for next week, and in the mean time keep a close watch on his leg.  He is on Keeflex for seven days, but other than that he feels great.

Thanks again to all who prayed, came by, called and helped out in many other ways.  I love you guys!!

Maybe I can get back to my routine here soon.

upate on Hunny Bunny

Had an MRI … looks like we’ll be here over the weekend.  No fever, but redness is a concern.  MRI will give us a better idea of whats going on.  I went home had prayer with Retta, Mexico and Nurse Tee, had a yummy lunch at LaPlaza w/Tee, showered, did bank business and paid some bills.  Returned to hospital and gave John a shower……brought back memories from ten years ago taking care of Gary.  John feels much better now that he has freshened up…….. just resting and taking in the Vancomycin and liquid steak.  Talk to ya’ll later on.

Love ya,

Cinny

My turn

Filed under: Daily — by Cinny @ 6:38 am

Well, I guess it’s my turn to take care of a sick loved one.  Hasn’t this been the theme of many of us TS lately?

Sunday night right before our Bible Study began, John said he wasn’t feeling too well and asked me  to take his temp —- I did it was 103.  I freaked!  He had me look at his leg cause it was bothering him.  I did and freaked once more!!!  The Mexican had gotten there by then and she agreed there was definitely a problem.  We waited for Nurse Tee to arrive to have look see.  Yep, we needed to call the doc she said right away.  By this time others had arrived – Manda, Retta, Pamie, and Karney. Mexico anointed John with EVOO and we all held hands and prayed over him.  Then we were off in Lolo’s ambulance service to the ER with Nurse Tee tending to me AKA Nervous Nelly in the back seat.

It didn’t take long at the ER – he was wheeled in and checked out and here I sit at John’s bedside ever since.  They’ve got him on strong antibiotics and he seems to be doing better.  Had a rough night Monday with high fever — actually scared me.  I sat in the recliner holding my Bible praying waiting for Tee to come — she was working right next door and I called her.   They got his temp back down and he has been doing good.  Had a little fever yesterday, but none today.  His leg is still really swollen and red.  Doc says we’ll see how all is tomorrow before he decides to let him go home.  John will have some more tests to find out why this is happening – remember last year?  Same thing.

Thanks to all of you praying, calling and your concerns about my Hunny Bunny…… and thanks to Lolo for bringing me her laptop.   Mostly, thanks to my Lord for continuing to remind me that He will never give me more than I can handle.  I did talk back to Him and tell Him I really didn’t want to do this again.   🙂   He understood and forgave me for talking back.

Love you all,

Cinny
